100 Smutfic Recs: "Across the Universe" and "Didn't Even Make It"
Today we'll be looking at two Fate series: Across the Universe by ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
fairywine and Didn't Even Make It (to the Onsen/Hospital/End of the Movie/Mission Briefing/Festival) by Arashi Leonhart. Across the Universe is Archer/Rin, while Didn't Even Make it features Shirou/a different female character in each (Rin, Saber, Sakura, Caren, and Ilya respectively.)
Across the Universe is plot-heavy, alternate Heavens Feel fic. It is sadly a dead fic, having been last updated in 2009, but before that there's over 60,000 words of plot and smut and Archer and Rin's developing romantic relationship. And there's Type-Moon references, an ensemble cast including some very cute Shirou/Sakura and Rider moments, and all kinds of good things.
The smut gets really good around The Girl With Kaleidoscope eyes, but it isn't bad beforehand, and Yuurei is an excellent writer all around. All in all, I really, really wish this fic would update someday. It would be awesome.
All of Didn't Even Make It can be found under the author's tag on Beast's Lair. They are pretty much all completely without a plot, or only a short premise before the sex sets in, and rely on their smut to carry them through. And it does, oh, it does.
I admire the author for being able to carry multiple pairings with Shirou well enough to write smut for all of them. Everyone retains their characterization while still participating in sexytimes. Wonderful gorgeous sexytimes.
Of the series, I really have a hard time recommending any over the others, but if pressed I'd pick End of the Movie and Mission Briefing as my favorites.
