There are two parts to every person: the mind and the body. There are two parts to every object: the physical object and how we perceive it. Every event is divided into what happens and what we think of it.
Some hold that the mind is separate from the body entirely. The mind can go to places that the body can never reach.
You've just found out that this is literal.

Where is my character?
Your character 'wakes up' in what looks like a school hallway, already holding their bags with their school supplies. This can be disorienting because they can be pulled from any canon point! So you can die and show up at school, or be in the middle of a tense battle and bam, school.
No really, what is this school?
Essentially, the Headmaster decided that you needed a little mental refinement, some skill-building perhaps in certain areas, and pulled your thoughts somewhere else. It's where the things we think of that have no physical form are - that nebulous area where peace and joy reside, where honesty has meaning.
And time doesn't apply there, so don't worry about that tense battle. It'll wait while you take your classes.
Classes?
Of course you have to take classes. It's a school. However, you're mostly in charge of determining what your character needs. There'll be a sign-up page that includes listing what classes your character takes, and you're free to make up as many as you need. We'll add those to the main list so that others have them for reference when deciding what classes to join.
So do we have a network?
It's a school of modern thought, so of course you do. Standard school supplies include a cell phone with access to the internet and a separate network only available to students and teachers.
Just to be clear, you can't change the actual internet with this by adding anything. You can only use it for research for your classes! Or goofing off with dumb web games.
Should we have an IC Inbox?
They're fun. Sure, go ahead.
Where does my character live?
Due to the absence of anywhere else in this plane of existence to live, your character lives in a dorm room with three other characters, assigned to them at application. They should all be the same gender as your character, unless there's a specific reason why not (genderless, robot, split personalities of opposite genders).
Can I bring my Gundam/pet/insert strange item here?
The school is made entirely of thought - physical limitations do not apply. As it is, your dorm room will get much bigger to accommodate any large items you wish to store there.
Pets and other attached creatures with minds of their own can be pulled along with you by request to the Headmaster once you're here. It's simple for them. Just a flick of the wrist. (If they have wrists.)
I want to app a character with split personalities!
You have the option of either apping one of the split personalities or both in the same 'body' like normal. We're flexible!
Can my character die?
No. In fact, it'll be very difficult for them even to get hurt. Injuries heal almost immediately and wounds close up at once. You can't get sick either. No excuse for not coming to class.
Can we app OCs?
Yes.
How many characters can I app?
At the moment, as many as you want. This may be given to change.
What about duplicates of a character?
In the journey to the center of the mind that's actually a bit left of the mind, some weird things happen. Yes, you can have duplicates of a character. They do have to be AU though.
We can app AUs?
Yes you can.
What happens when we drop?
OOCly, we're sad to see you go. ICly, the Headmaster has judged that your character has learned all that they can, and they send your mind back to its proper place and time.
What if we hiatus?
You can either autopilot or just disappear for a time. Nobody really knows why the Headmaster does this, but at least they take care of all your schoolwork for you.
Can we canon update?
Yes. The Headmaster sends your character back and then pulls them back again later.
What's our Activity Check like?
We'll go with a check-in post every other month until such time as we actually need an AC.

It's officially The Academy of Thought in whatever language would sound pretentious to you. Latin to most modern English speakers, Greek to ancient Romans, and so on. Due to difficulty translating, it's just The Academy for common reference.
